Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I know I did. You how holidays get the better of you? Totally did for me and I had a great time! Well, this craft is super easy and can be used for anything! I made these for my sister’s baby shower.
You will need:
-Colored paper for your choice (any size will do, the larger the paper, the larger your pinwheel) -Double-sided tape or glue -Printouts for whatever you want to decorate your pinwheel As written above, I used an 8”x11” sheet of paper for this project, and it was about 8” diameter. But if you use something larger, your pinwheel will be larger too. Simply fold your paper about an inch to a half inch wide, then fold it the opposite way. Repeat this over and over again until you’ve folded the entire paper. Just like you see above on the right.
Once you’ve completed the fold, fold the entire paper in half, just like you see on the left. Then tape the paper together. You can glue it, but I hate glue. I hate the mess. So I used tape. But please use double sided tape, please learn from my mistakes.
Now its time to move on to the second sheet. Then tape it all together. Please forgive me. I didn’t have double-sided tape the time I made these and it does show ?
For this pinwheel, I used 5 sheets of paper. I didn’t like the four corner look. This banner below has 4 sheets of yellow and 1 sheet of black.
As you can see, I created my own version of a hook, Again, put on with tape. On the right image below, I created a second pinwheel.
If you’ve noticed, they are the colors of Batman and Superman.
I cut out a thing strip of paper and taped it on to the red and blue pinwheel. I know, it looks like a Wonder Woman pinwheel. It’ll look better later. Plus I liked how the yellow divides up the red and blue.
Now you print out your superhero logos to cover up how awful the middle part looks. I suggest using glue instead of tape. Mine kept falling off.
And that’s it! How to make your own pinwheel. Super cute and simple project. Want a cuter, cleaner look? Use scrapbook paper! This took about a half hour to complete and has so many applications!
Thanks for reading, see you next time!
